Message from the ISISE 2010 Symposium Chairs
The 2010 International Symposium on Information Science and Engineering (ISISE 2010) was the Third in the annual series that started in Shanghai, China from 28 Dec. to 30 Dec., 2008. In today’s globally competitive environment, advanced effective intelligent information technologies have allowed new opportunities for users to be intensely connected. It interweaves tightly into our private and public communications, interactions and transactions; inadvertently forms an intricate infrastructure for critical social and institutional functions such as commerce, banking and finance, utilities, national defense, education, entertainment and many more useful applications.
Welcome to ISISE 2010. Welcome to Shanghai, China. The 2010 International Symposium on Information Science and Engineering is co-sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Electronics,China;Shanghai Jiaotong University,China;Fudan University,China;Peoples'Friendship University of Russia, Russia;Feng Chia University, Taiwan;South China University of Technology, China;Henan Polytechnic University, China;Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, China;Nanchang HangKong University,China;Academy Publisher,Finland.The conference received 278 paper submissions from 7 countries and regions; every paper was reviewed by 2 program committee members; 171 papers have been selected as regular papers, representing a 49% acceptance rate for regular papers. From these 171 research papers, through two rounds of reviewing, the guest editors selected 30 papers as the excellent papers will be published by the special issues on Journal of Computers (EI Compendex, ISSN 1796-203X), Journal of software (EI Compendex, ISSN 1796-217X), Journal of Multimedia (EI Compendex, ISSN 1796-2048), Journal of Networks (EI Compendex, ISSN 1796-2056).
The goal of ISISE 2010 are to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to exchange their research ideas and results, and to discuss the state of the art in the many areas of security for electronic commerce. Participants of the Symposium will hear from renowned keynote speakers including: IEEE Fellow Prof. Jun Wang from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; IEEE Fellow Prof. Wlodzislaw Duch, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland, president of the European Neural Networks Society, member of IEEE CIS Technical committee.
We would like to thank the program chairs, organization staff, and the members of the program committees for their hard work. We hope that ISISE 2010 will be successful and enjoyable to all participants.

Wlodzislaw Duch heads the Department of Informatics, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, Poland, and is also a Nanyang Visting Professor (2010-12) in the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore where ha also worked in 2003-07. His Ph.D. was in quantum chemistry (1980), postdoc at Univ. of Souther California, Los Angeles (1980-82), D.Sc. in applied math (1987); worked at the University of Florida; Max-Planck-Institute, Munich, Germany, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Meiji and Rikkyo University in Japan, and several other institutions. He is/was on the editorial board of IEEE TNN, CPC, NIP-LR, Journal of Mind and Behavior, and 12 other journals; was co-founder & scientific editor of the “Polish Cognitive Science” journal; fot two terms has served as the President of the European Neural Networks Society executive committee (2006-2008-2011), is an active member of IEEE CIS Technical committee; works as an expert of the European Union science programs; published about 430 scientific and popular articles, co-authored 4 books and edited 14 books, his DuchSoft company has made GhostMiner software package marketed by Fujitsu.
  Wen Chen was born in 1967 in Anhui, China. He received his PhD from the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan in 1999. He was a researcher with Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences from 1999 through 2001. Then he joined University of Alberta, Canada, starting as a post-doctoral fellow in Information Research Lab and continuing as a research associate in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Since 2006, he has been a full professor in Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China, where he is also the director of Institute for Signal Processing and Systems. Dr. Chen was awarded the Ariyama Memorial Research Prize in 1997, the PIMS Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2001. He received the honors of “New Century Excellent Young Researcher in China” in 2006 and “The Pujiang Excellent Investigator in Shanghai” in 2007. He is elected the vice general secretary of Shanghai Institute of Electronics in 2008. He is in the editorial board of the “International Journal of Wireless Communications and Networking”, and serves IEEE Communications Society as a Technical Committee member of Communication Theory. He is the TPC chair for IEEE-ICCSC2008 and a special session chair for IEEE-SIPS2007. He has published more than 30 papers in IEEE journals and conferences. His interests cover cooperative communications and networks.
 
Chin-Chen Chang was born in Taichung, Taiwan. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from National Chiao Tung University. His first degree is Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and master degree is Master of Science in Computer and Decision Sciences. Both were awarded in National Tsing Hua University. Dr. Chang served in National Chung Cheng University from 1989 to 2005. His current title is Chair Professor in Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, Feng Chia University, from Feb. 2005. Prior to joining Feng Chia University, Professor Chang was an associate professor in Chiao Tung University, professor in National Chung Hsing University, chair professor in National Chung Cheng University. He had also been Visiting Researcher and Visiting Scientist to Tokyo University and Kyoto University, Japan. During his service in Chung Cheng, Professor Chang served as Chairman of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Dean of College of Engineering, Provost and then Acting President of Chung Cheng University and Director of Advisory Office in Ministry of Education, Taiwan. Professor Chang’s specialties include, but not limited to, data engineering, database systems, and computer cryptography and information security. A researcher of acclaimed and distinguished services and contributions to his country and advancing human knowledge in the field of information science, Professor Chang has won many research awards and honorary positions by and in prestigious organizations both nationally and internationally. He is currently a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of IEE, UK. Yiqin Lu was born in 1968, Deqing, China. He obtained his Ph.D degree in circuit and system from South China University of Technology in 1996.
He has been a post-doctor in Dept. of Computer Science in City University of Hong Kong during 1997-1998. Now he is a professor of South China University of Technology. He has supervised 17 research projects, and published one book and more tan 60 journal or international conference papers. His research interests include telecommunications networks, computer networks, home networks, and the theories and application of Petri nets.
Prof. Lu is now the director of the South China Network Center of China Education and Research Network, the director of Information and Network Engineering and Research Center of South China University of Technology. He is an IEEE member. He owned the first grade prize as the Excellent Research Student of Guangdong Province in 1993, and the third grade Science and Technology Award of Guangdong Province in 2004.
 
Yiqin Lu was born in 1968, Deqing, China. He obtained his Ph.D degree in circuit and system from South China University of Technology in 1996.

Weihui Dai was born in Hunan, China in June 1966. He received his B.S. degree in Automation Engineering in 1987, his Master degree in Automobile Electronics in 1992, and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in1996, all from Zhejiang University, China. He is currently an associate professor at Department of Information Management and Information Systems, School of Management, Fudan University, China. He worked as a post-doctor at School of Management, Fudan University from 1997 to 1999, a visiting scholar at Sloan School of Management, M.I.T from 2000 to 2001, and a visiting professor at Chonnam National University, Korea from 2001 to 2002. He has published more than 100 papers in Software Engineering, Information Management and Information Systems, Complex Adaptive System and Socioeconomic Ecology, Digital Arts and Creative Industry, etc. He became a member of IEEE in 2003, a senior member of China Computer Society in 2004, and a senior member of China Society of Technology Economics in 2004.
 
Yun Liu was born in Beijing, China, on October 10, 1962. Bachelor of Automatic Control (6/1982) Taiyuan Science & Technology University, Taiyuan, Shanxi, P.R.China. Master of Electric Engineering (3/1995) Tongji University, Shanghai, P.R.China. Doctor of Signal and Information Processing (6/2001) China Mining & Technology University, Beijing, P.R.China. His main research interests mainly information technology include digital signal processing, image processing and video signal processing. Now he is professor and dean of Information College in Qingdao University of Science & Technology, China. He has published research papers in more than 60. Above 20 papers are indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. Prof. Liu served as many workshop chair, advisory committee or program committee member of various international conferences, and he is currently serving as a member of Technical Committee, Chinese Association of Computer, China.
 
Jun Zhang was born in Sichuan, China in 1966. He received his Ph.D degree in computer science from Huazhong University of Science & Technology, China in 2003 and his M.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Lanzhou University in 1993. He had been a visiting postdoctoral Researcher in University College London, UK under Prof. Ingemar Cox’ supervision. Now, he is the rector of Information Science School, Guangdong University of Business Studies. His research interest is information security such as data hiding, watermarking and privacy protection. In this field, He has published more than 30 papers. Moreover he had been in charge of some projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China and Guangdong Natural Science Foundation. He served as many workshop chairs, advisory committee or program committee member of various international IEEE conferences, and chaired a number of international conferences such as ISECS’08, ISECS’09 and ISIP’09.
 
Jian Shu was born in Jiangxi, China, on May 25, 1964, received his B.S. degree in computer science from North-western Polytechnic University, Xian, China, in 1985, M.S. degree in computer networks from North-western Polytechnical University, in 1990.
He was a lecture from 1992 to 1997, and was an associate professor from 1998 to 2002 in school of computing, Nanchang Hangkong University, Nanchang, China. He was a Visiting Researcher, Department of physics and computing, Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario, Canada, from August, 2001 to August, 2002. He is currently a professor in School of Computing, Nanchang Hangkong University. His research interests include Wireless Sensor Networks and Load Balancing. He was the recipient of Jiangxi Science & Technology Award, Jiangxi Province (2007).
 
Yan Gao, male, born in 1963, Ph.D., professor, the senior member of CCF. the director of Educational Committee of Henan provincial Computer Federation, the deputy dean of computer and software academe of Henan Polytechnic University.
Research Interests: Intelligent Control, Intelligent Information Processing. He has directed (or participated) and completed more than 20 items of the research projects. More than 40 research papers have been published in domestic and foreign academic journals or conferences. 17 of them have been indexed by SCI/EI/ISTP. As the directed or associate editor, 3 treatises and 6 teaching materials have been published
 
Guangxue Yue was born in 1963, Guizhou, China. He obtained his master in Hunan University. Professor, the College of Mathematics & Information Engineering, Jiaxing University, China. His main research interests include Distributed Computing & Network, Network Security, and Hybird & Embedded Systems. In these areas he has published above 30 papers in leading journals or conference proceedings, above 20 papers are indexed by SCIE, EI. He served as many workshop chairs, advisory committee or program committee member of various international IEEE conferences, and chaired a number of international conferences such as ISECS’08, ISIP’09, ISECS’09 and ISISE’08. He have taken as a guest researcher in Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu Polytechnic University, State Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology at Nanjing University, Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Province Key Lab of Electronic Commerce Market Application Technology.
 
Lei Shi was born in 1967, Zhengzhou, China. He received the M.Sc. degree (1992) in computer science from Nanjing University and Ph.D. degree (2006) in computer science from Beijing Institute of Technology. He has published over 70 papers in journals and international conferences and 5 books in his research field. More than 20 papers are indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. Currently he is a full professor in the School of Information Engineering, Zhengzhou University. He served as workshop chair, program committee member of many international conferences. His research interests are in the areas of distributed and Internet systems, web prefetching, web mining and high performance computing.
 
Zhao Weidong was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province in December 1971. He got his Master degree from Hefei University of Technology in 1998 and PhD from Southeast University under the supervision of Prof. Sheng Zhaohan. In 2001, he was awarded the first prize for Technology Advance of Chinese Universities by Ministry of Education. He worked as a post-doctorate at Management School, Fudan University from June 2001 to May 2003 together with Professor Huang Lihua. From June 2003 on, he has been at Software School of Fudan University as an associate professor.
In recent years, he has taken part in more than ten research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Shanghai Science Committee and Shanghai Telecommunication etc. During the time, he also published over 80 research papers in important international journals and international conferences.
He often serves as the reviewer for some key periodicals and international conferences in the areas of e-business, management information systems such as Journal of Systems Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, Systems engineering & Electronic technology, Service Oriented Computing and Applications, Software and Systems Modeling, and PC Member for ICEBE2007-2010,IEEE SMC 2007 -2009, ISECS 2009-2010 etc.
 
Fei Yu was born in Ningxiang, China, on February 06, 1973. Before Studying in Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Russia, He joined and worked in Hunan University, Zhejiang University, Hunan Agricultural University, China. He has wide research interests, mainly information technology. In these areas he has published above 50 papers in journals or conference proceedings and a book has published by Science Press, China (Fei Yu, Miaoliang Zhu, Cheng Xu, et al. Computer Network Security, 2003). Above 30 papers are indexed by SCI, EI. He has won various awards in the past. He served as many workshop chair, advisory committee or program committee member of various international ACM/IEEE conferences, and chaired a number of international conferences such as IITA’07, ISIP’08, ISECS’08 ISIP’09,ISECS’09 and ISISE’08. He have taken as a guest researcher in State Key Laboratory of Information Security, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Province Key Lab of Electronic Commerce Market Application Technology, Jiangsu Provincial Key Lab of Image Processing and Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Computer Information Processing Technology.

  Jun Wang is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to this position, he held various academic positions at Dalian University of Technology, Case Western Reserve University, and University of North Dakota. He also held various short-term visiting positions at USAF Armstrong Laboratory (1995), REKEN Brain Science Institute (2001), Universite Catholique de Louvain (2001), Chinese Academy of Sciences (2002), and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (2006–-2007). He has held a Changjiang Chair Professorship in computer science and engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2008. He received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and an M.S. degree in systems engineering from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in systems engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. His current research interests include neural networks and their applications. He published over 140 journal papers, 12 book chapters, 10 edited books, and numerous conference papers in these areas. He has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics – Part B since 2003, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Neural System since 2006. He also served as an Associate Editor of of the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks (1999-2009) and the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics – Part C (2002–2005) and as a guest editor of special issues of European Journal of Operational Research (1996), International Journal of Neural Systems (2007), and Neurocomputing (2008). He was an organizer of several international conferences such as the General Chair of the 13th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (2006) and the 2008 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence. He served as the President of the Asia Pacific Neural Network Assembly in 2006. He is an IEEE Fellow and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer. He is also the recipient of the 2008-2009 Research Excellence Award from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2009 First Class Natural Science Award from Shanghai Government, and 2008 IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks Outstanding Paper Award.

Duch is an expert in computational intelligence (CI), especially in methods that facilitate understanding of data, general CI theory based on similarity evaluation and composition of transformations, meta-learning schemes that automatically discover the best model for a given data. He also tries to develop neurocognitive informatics, algorithms inspired by models of brain functions at different levels, geometrical theories for modeling of mental events and relating such models to neurodynamics, models of attention deficit disorders integrating genetic, molecular, neural and behavioral levels, infant learning and toys that facilitate mental development. He has written a number of papers in the philosophy of mind, helping to develop cognitive sciences curriculum. With a wide background in many branches of science and understanding of different cultures he bridges various scientific communities.
